Default Tire width question......

Has anyone mounted a 9" wide tire on the front of their sportsman 500 ?
My stockers are 8" and bald and I found a good price on some 9" inchers,
but looks like the clearance is real close

you might be able to get away w/ it or you might be rubbing as well w/ out wheel spacers or aftermarket rims. imo

I have 9' mudlites on my 03 700, need 3/8 washers on the studs behind the wheels to clear, or flip the tie rod ends to the bottom side of struts and re-align,you still have plenty of wheel studs with the washers.

It will likely rub. I ended up getting longer studs from SuperATV.com. Polaris Extended Wheel Studs #186 I got those pressed in and added 3/8" with a nut and a washer. (both hardened) It gives me at least 1/4" of clearance for the XTRs I put on.

Thanks all for the reply and suggestions.

I didnt even think about using some washers as spacers.
That may give me the clearance I need since there is only about 1/2" right now.

I'd be more than happy to except I can't find them. I have no idea what I did with them. If they show up I'll let you know but they aren't where I would've left them.

I just put 9'' Bighorns on my 2006 500 sportsman and i havent had any rubbing. I think it depends on the tire you get. The bighorns have very round profile so they just clear
