Default Serviced the 850

I serviced the 850 this weekend, changed the engine oil and checked everything else,even though Po9laris shows a different part # for the oil filter it is the same as the 500, Wix # 51358, took the old one off, drained it and compared them side by side, the wix filter is exzactly the same.

What oil did you use?
I recently changed the oil in my 850 for the first time. Decided to go with the Polaris kit that has there oil I think its a 0W or 2W. To me it looked thicker than the 5w-20 that I use in my car. Was just wondering what you decided to put into your machine.

I called a dealer yesterday to check on parts for the recalls and ask how much $$ for fluid change on our 850. I think he must have misunderstood what I wanted, quoted $400 for all oil and lube but never called back if they had parts for recall or an appointment date. I think almost everyone must do their own service with those prices, I use Mobil 1 for the motor but everything else is Polaris.

I too use Mobil 1 and Wix filters. The dealers have lost their mind charging those kind of rates for a one hour job.

Weedy, or anyone else;
Where are you picking up your Mobil 1 and what weight is it?

I use both 0/40 and 5/30 Mobil 1, from Walmart and Costco. Prefer 0/40 but had a coupon for Costco made a case of 6 quarts for $23 but they only had 5/30.

The owner's manual calls for 2W/50 synthetic, which I've found is only available from Polaris. I'm using Mobil 1 5W/50 synthetic that I purchase from the local Esso bulk station. I also use the same Wix oil filter on both my '10 850 and my '03 SP500.
