What is the top speed i should be riding in low range... the dealer told me around 15mph wouldnt hurt my belt but the manual says no more then 7 then i should be in high to maintain the belt...

I cruise around in low around 15mph all day long and have never had any problems. The manual probably does say 7mph for the sp's but it won't hurt anything or shorten belt life. What kills belts is running in high at lower speeds. The others were correct on 35mph for the xp's.

any more then around 15 mph your winding the hell out of the engine. low range is for going real slow or working or hauling. it also helps cool the belt w/ more rmp's turning while going below 15 mph.

Funny this thread popped up. I was just wondering this myself. I have always heard the 7mph - 15mph numbers in the past.
The other day I was playing around behind the house and brought the front end up a couple of times and wound her out after bringing the front end back down. I was coming close to 20MPH but only at 4500rpm give or take.
I figured at that speed I'd have her close to the limiter over the 6000rpm mark.
Any harm in 4500 - 5000 rpm in low. Will it hurt anything?
Am I right to assume that as long as my rev's are under the limiter I am not doing any damage?
