I just installed 3 HID lights on my bike and I'm going to findout if the surging continues with these new lights this morning (3:45 am) on my way to work.

yes the recifier is the part that controlls the voltage and most likely be the problem if the voltage is going up and down.

I switched my halogen lights to HID's and now I've got a new problem, my lights don't surge anymore they go out sporatically!!! I'll be ordering a rectifier Friday and hopefully that fixes my lighting problem.
The HID lights are "WAY" better than the halogens.

Anybody know where I can buy a rectifier for my 99 Sportsman 500 for a decent price?

Are you sure you got HID headlights?

They are not cheap and you are wondering about a rectifier for a decent price?
I am not calling you cheap ,everybody looks for a deal, But I do think a pair of HID's run around $200.00 and you bought three? Did you get Ballast with them?
Where did you mount the ballasts?

Yes I bought HID lights and they came with the slim ballasts, low beam ballast is mounted on a steel support behind the radiator, and the high beam ballast is in the headlight pod.
I paid $140 for a 3 light kit from a know seller on fleabay.
