I've got a 2000 scrambler 500 4x4 cvt. I,ve lost reverse all it does now is grind.i've looked online and I see a shaft and dog gears and other things. i'm trying to figure out what to buy to fix my reverse gear. any help would be great. thanks for looking.

 

Did your try to adjust your reverse lingage rode from the shifter to the tranny first?

Mine would grind and not go into foward, A little adjustment (2 turns) of the foward linkage rod and it shifted perfectly,that was 3 years ago.

 

try unhooking the shifter form the linkage and try to shift into by hand mon the tranny to see if it will go in, and if so like menrtioned just adjust it.

 

Yep, I have a similar problem, mine wont stay in reverse, I'm pretty sure I just need to adjust it ) fingers crossed!!

 

I'm gonna try that this weekend and I'll let you know how it turns out
