Default Outer CV boot clamp missing.

I was washing the bike yesterday and noticed the Rear outer CV boot clamp is missing. NOT GOOD.
I was just thigh deep in water before washing it. It's doesnt seem to be clicking so hopfully all I need is just a clamp and maybe a boot kit.

For time restraints I think I'm going to pay the 8 bucks for a polaris clamp or the 56 bucks for a boot kit but in the future I might order some extra's online i case this happens again.

I have two questions for you guys.

Can I tighten the clamps with pliers and if so what kind.

Also where is the CV joint sticky. Right when I need it, It has seemed to dissapeared. Whats going on. All of Stendori awesome stickys are missing, Was there a falling out? Whats going on.

Third question, what size is the rear hub retaining nut. I don't have any sockets that big and don't want to buy the wrong one.

Just go to auto parts store and buy a clamp and a cheap banding tool. They cost under $20 and you will need it in the future.

the polaris boots need an earless pliers to tihten, I bought mine off of a snap -on truck for $20.00, you can do them with a pair of needle nose pliers, sometimes it works , sometimes its a pita, as said I think the axle nuts are 1-1/16. look at the cv-man on ebay he has boots and clamps, good service to1-800-338-2326

I went and picked up some bands and cv grease from an auto store today. I'm going to pull the axle and clean the outer cv, re-grease and clamp it. I'm planing on getting some spare axles from CV man. 65 bucks an axle is almost as cheap as the 56 polaris wants just for a boot kit. One boot!
I hope the cv is not pooched. Not sure how long the clamp was missing. Maybe a few rides. The last two rides were short but deep and muddy which I'm sure isn't going to help things. Then again the mud was awfully slippery. I wonder what lubricating properties wet mud has. JK.
I want to get the boot fixed in the next couple of days for a potential fathers day ride.
In the mean time I will get some axles and maybe a boot kit on order. It would be re-assuring to have a spare front and rear axle.

Wish me luck on getting that axle out without much trouble.

Oh, Does anyone know what happened to the cv joint sticky. I tried a search but all the words or too common and it omits them.
