Default Battery replacement?

My po-po is 2 years old. Do to a new baby, we only got out twice last summer. I started. The atv in Nov 09 and just let it run. The end of April'10 I had to charge the battery for about 30 minutes in order to get it to start and it was fine for the 2 days I used it.
Today it is dead again. Charge or replace it? Buy a battery at Wal-mart or Checker/ auto zone? TIA!
(Going wheeling and fishing tomorrow and don't want any problems(

are your battery cables a little loose? that happened to my honda recon.

sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldn't. its real nice having a pull start to use for backup.

but since you let it sit for a while your best bet will be to buy a new battery specifically designed for atv's.

Default Doh! Pull start:

Forgot I had one! Had the battery tested, it was toast. Now trying to decide between getting a sealed or unsealed battery..THANKS for the reply.

Still got the factory Polaris ones in both my 2006 sp 450's.....Well into 3000 miles now..........Very cold winters here in Canada.........Still going.......No battery tender all winter either..........Just starting them up at least every four or five weeks
Nothing to complain about here about the batteries..........Caper............

I use my battery tender religiously and have never had an issue. Had my 05 800 almost four years and still had the original. They make a huge difference IMO.

buy the sealed, gel filled battery, better battery and not much more expensive IMO

Thanks everyone. I got a sealed battery, and will have it on a tender for the winter from now on. The sealed battery was less at the dealer than the non-sealed one was at Checker...and I don't have to worry about checking the water level in the battery

Now you tell the wife "See baby I need to ride more so I don't waste any money on another battery." lol
