Default Which lights....

Just got back from a great night ride....what a blast. Even though the XP has the 3-pack on high, I'm looking for some more light. What are the options that people have put on their Sportsmans? Not sure how powerful I can go without alternator issues. The more light the better and it's got to be something that can take some abuse.

HID lights typically have a lower power draw that their halogen/incandescent brothers.

Thanks. I'll Google that with "ATV" and see what I come up with. There's got to be some good lights out there.

Sten...Is that a fastback Mustang on the trailer there? Fun stuff...looks like it's off to burn some gas...love it. Friend used to have a '87 5.0 fastback. Thing would do donuts on dry pavement at will, but it was still only 225hp stock. Fun though. Used to come onto the Interstate on certain sweepers in a four wheel slide when the roads were damp. Not the safest thing in hindsight, but still brings a big grin 10 years later.

I've got my heart set on a Corvette in the next five years.....Lookin' for some rear-wheel drive action with 400hp. Me with 400hp sounds like a death wish...I'd have to be very careful.

I have HIDs for my 850XP. They are great! Used them on my last 650 mile atv ride last weekend. They are plug and play units. 10 x as strong as stock. This picture was taken with the sun facing the quad. The lights still look strong. They are currently on special at theatvsuperstore.com

Thanks OPD! The work even better than they look. What a difference from stock and soooooo easy to install! All you do us take out the old bulb, unclip it, clip the new HID wire the old bulb wire, find a place to install the ballasts, plug the new HID bulb into the quad and you are done! I connect my two bottom ones to my Warn XT30 Remote sender on the front of the quad. I used the heavy duty 2 sided take that comes with the kit and used zip ties for extra security. As for the POD area that is very easy. I connected the ballast right the the handlebars with a zip tie and tape & 2 sided tape.

As for the PIAA or any other driving light the light is not as strong as the HID's + the HIDs are almost 1/2 the price of the over priced PIAA lights. Best of all you do not need a bumper to install these. ;-)

Anyone need a set TheATVSuperStore is offering a discount on HIDS to the ATVConnection gang. Just use Code ATVCLUB to save a extra $15.00!

That's NUTS Thor! So they're plug and play...no need to install those modules that bolt onto the frame? Are they too bright at night....like a flash bulb? Can't believe the intensity....Thanks for the link.

650 mile ride....Nice. That sounds like a whole lot of fun. I haven't been out for more than 50 miles in the last 2 years. Pathetic, I know.

Edit: I see the module now. Didn't read all the posts before posting. Still looks easy. Great shots.

Happy 4th.

FunRide,

They are much brighter than stock yes. You can see everything on the trail now. They are as bright as my HIDs were on my Escalade. Yes the 650 mile ride was awesome! Took almost 2 hours to get all the mud off the quad & to get it looking like new again.
