Don't believe everything you hear. Pick out a machine that you like and take your time making your decision.
Reliability is often a direct reflection of the owners ability to take care of their things.
Any machine you choose, if you wanna play hard, you sometimes have to pay.

+1 My brother is diehard honda and trash talks my popo but rants obscenity at me when I'm riding circles around him in the mud or leaving him in the dust. Buy what you want! They all have pro's and con's.

Tell your brother you want a true 4x4 machine and not a 3 wheel drive Honda .

LOL. I did tell him that once as I was pulling him out when he couldn't follow. I don't think he found the humor in it.

And as for reliability in my case I bought a new 2008 500 carb which now has 8000 miles on it . It's been flawless except for a 2 dollar flywheel key in all of that time . No running issues , no carb issues , not a single problem in almost 3 years . The most reliable machine I've ever owned , Polaris in my case are as reliable as any Honda maybe more so .

Cool I banged off 125 miles yesterday thats great to hear someone with high miles and a problem free XP . You don't need a Yamaha or Honda for reliability these Polaris machines should go 20,000 miles without missing a beat . At least thats what I'm hoping for besides regular maintenance .
