I will be picking ip my new Scram. in about a week or so, and i want to put aluminum wheels on right away. I know you can get a package deal if you buy tires and wheels together. So i was wondering what was a good tire out there fot all around use. Around here I have mud, snow, rocks,hills,and a little sand. Or should I stick with my stockers.

The dealer gave me a 50% rebate on my rear Bearclaws when I bought the Scrambler. They are amazing in mud and just about everything. The fronts are a must change if you want to ride agressively. The stock 489's are not stiff enough for turning sharply and in the whoops they seem to squoosh too quick.

If you want a much more sporty tire get some Razrs or Holeshots in back. The front Razrs are great for carving turns but offer limited traction due to the "mohawk" tread design. I hear that front Holeshots, Bearclaws or Bandits are good. My next front tires will be between those three.

Bearclaws are the way to go. My friend has them, and I have them on my front and nothing beats em.

Sparkster... How do the Bearclaws do in turns compared to stock? Traction must be great.

I see the Bearclaws and the Dirtdevils have close to the same tread pattern. Has any one tried the Dirtdevils. Another point is the Bearclaws don't have the same OEM sizes, 22/12/10 rears and 23/8/11 fronts so getting a 11" rim raises the cost almost $80. But the Dirtdevils match OEM, any thought's would be helpful.

I would suggest the Titan 589's. I have them on my Grizzly. I went out riding yesterday with a couple of friends. One was riding a 2000 Kodiak with stock tires. The other was a 96 Sportsman 400 with Spider tracks I think he called them? At the end of the day, I out mudded, and out climbed both of them handily. It was mainly because of the tire difference.

The bearclaws maybe take a little more arm strength than the stock tires when turning but I was so surprised how good they actually were. Of course they won't be as good as a less aggresive tire at turning, but they actually aren't that bad. I can be going fast or slow and I feel they turn with good comfort.

One Word - HOLESHOTS.

Best all round trail tire by far. No flats, great traction (except handle bar depth mud), great handling. Put them on ITP T9 wheels.

Any thoughts about the Bandits? That's what I was thinking about ordering. Anyone ever tried them?

I run the ITP Holeshot on Douglas aluminums with Champion bead locks. They are a great all around tire with good puncture resistance.
