I know what some people are thinking well why didnt he just buy a bigger bike well I am not too into the huge bikes such as my buddy has the 800 or 850 grizzly and its too freaking big not too mention to have that bike roll on your head. I like to be able to manhandle my bike in the trails while riding and I just dont hink I will be able to do that with another 100 plus pounds of weight money was another factor. I looked at bikes for a while and decided that this was the best bang for the buck out of all the bikes I compared.

Thats true ,I rode on some tight twisty narrow trails with low over hanging branches where I wished I was back on my 350 Big Bear.

The 400HO is a great bike and I'll take 100# less weight any day over the HP! Mine will do just under 60 mph on the GPS with the 26" tires and will pull the front any time! It handles more like a sport bike then a utiliity and has plenty of room for all but the fattest asses...but then again if thats a problem, maybe you should be peddling a bicycle!
I trust this engine so much that I just added the 2011 Ranger 400HO the the stable and it mazes me how this machine handles every situation I put it in!
While Polaris disappointed me by pulling the plug on the midsize frame 400HO, they have delighted me with the midsize 400 HO ranger!

Cheers

well went riding over the weekend and I totally agree that this bike definetly did not dissapoint. This is all the bike that I will need after breaking in a finally being able to give it a real go this bike can pull the front up anytime and well I cannot say enough good things about the bike and now I am a little disappointed that they dropped the small frame beacuse that extra 100# is going to take a little bit off the bike all in all 110 percent satisfied so far with the performance and handling of this atv

The new 400 H.O will have some advantages over the smaller 400 H.O, when its time to bring a passenger,or make the ATV tow or carry a load, also the new 400 has a low range where the smaller ones does not. I use low range countless of times on slow rugged trails.

Try to pull and carry a load like this without a full size frame and a low range.

The 400HO HAS a low range, its just built into the CVT and you don't have to shift it manually. Take the time to try one & you'll see what I mean. This is done with the Drive sheaves (pulleys) having a different angle & travel. Its lowest range is comparable with any H/L set up.

Nothin' but nothin' soaks up power & gearing like tracks. The midsize 400HO performs like the pro that it is.
