It has a wastegate(valve that basically lets the exhaust gasses bypass the turbine wheel when the desired boost is achieved) that controls the boost..it is manually adjustable...the turbo i have is good to about 20 psi on the 760cc Popo motor..but I'd need a good bit of engine work to ever be able to turn it up that much...the stock crank is the weak link..they like to twist.
A blow off vavle is what dumps boost pressure from the intake track when you slam the throttle shut...
Now if the wastegate were to stick all bets could be off....could be a bad day for sure.

Yeah..I know it's still weak lol....but is alot better than the 35ish RWHP of the stock motor...as it is with the turbo at 10psi it has plenty of power for me..and it is amazing how well the clutching works when the engine makes enough power to adequately pinch the belt at low RPMs. I know over the years I have seen people remark that the sleds running much more power don't seem to have the belt issues that the lower powered ATVs do...I now have to wonder if maybe it is because some of the ATV engines can't be clutched heavy enough(ie don't have enough power) to pinch the belt hard at low RPMS...especially in high. With the turbo in the RZR4 I can use high almost exclusively without noticably slipping the belt even at lower speeds. The clutching and belt pinch just seems so much better. Makes me wonder if the belts on many of CVT the ATVs aren't actually too robust/stiff??

2010 Polaris IQ Turbo Dragon Review

Polaris's wild motors do not go into ATVs and the 750 dragon is not there fastest sled.
Hope a ATV HP war does not break out,Yamaha and AC are holding back also.

Must ask what next for you HO? Those Can-Am Commander's got to be staring you down a bit! LOL. IMO those will be the next big even without being in the 50" trail limits!

Anywho...click the pic.
Now, that is fast! Nice.

I'll be keeping the RZR 4 for a while. The Commanders were out before I bought the RZR....I have no intrest in them. They aren't in the same class as a RZR. More like a Rhino.
I doubt the Commander will effect RZR sales much, and it isn't the wiidth of the tires keeping RZR owners from jumping ship. The RZR-S and 4 are 60" wide but the body is less bulky than the Commander and they have a pretty good suspension right out of the box. And so far from what I have been seeing the only place the Commander will out perform a RZR-S is straight line acceleration. If Can-Am were to come out with a machine comparable to the RZR in size and sportiness then it could get interesting.
