Might as well just get the whole fan new from SPAL .COM thats where Polaris buys them from but spals sells them for $85. Not $250 like a dealership. I got one for $65 from ebay ,my dealership wanted $320 Canadian.LOL

i got a fan from summit racing . 50 bucks
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PR...ype=10(picture is wrong is has a rear grille)
exact fit, almost fits better than stock unit. higher cfm and rear housing has grille to protect from debris. can't even tell its running with quad running. and blow ways more air.
just needed 4 rubber shims so mounts holds fan flush to shroud

My new project (99 sportsman 500) has a toggle switch to turn the fan on, and when its on it doesnt sound very healthy. So I'd guess I should get a temp sender of some sort, and maybe a Summit fan? Anyone know what temp I should be looking for, so I can use a cheap automotive sender instead of a big dollar dealer part?
Dont want to run it this way for long, but can I just turn it on when the red light comes on, or is the red light too late?

If your Polaris switch is a 4010161 you can use a Napa FS 147 ,Wells SW526 or BlueStreak TS-127.
