Default Fuel Flash Warning(On Display)

Just posting a question to see if anyone knows how much fuel is left when the display starts to flash.

This week-end on the local Fall Rally I went a total of 84 miles on my 2006 Sp 450 and the last 8-10 the dispaly was flashing. I know from the 2005 Sp 400 to the 2006/2006 Sp 450 they dropped the "RES" ****.

I am thinking the fuel flash is now the reserve and might still have 1/2 gallon left in the tank or more.
Just thought someone might know how much fuel is left when it starts to flash.

.Caper...........

I think it means you don't have as much fuel as when you started. I've actually never had mine do that yet but I've put up to 5 gallons in my X2. So, in my case, I had about 1 gallon left but the fuel flasher didn't go on.

The manual says that when the last light bar goes out of the fuel gauge, the display will start to flash.
Get fuel !!!!
However the reason I am asking is that when full of fuel , the first light bar on the gauge does not go out until about 25-30 miles.

My next long ride I will do a test after the Fuel flashes, I will ride until it out.
I carry extra with me anyway,But just thought it might be a resere warning also.
Why flash fuel if it is too late anyway.
Caper......

I find the digital gas gages on any ATV,motorcycles and sled work the same useless way. Out of a bar of 3 the first two bars are used up quickly and the last bar last almost as long as the first two bars combined.
The only gas gage I trust is the sliding floater type or a tree banch stuck down the gas tank hole.

I also like using the trip meter. I fill the ATV/sled up set the trip to zero and I know at 100 miles I,m riding on fumes.

huh? on most fuel guages including cars the needle or bar last longest at the beging and goes fast towards the end

Not on a few trucks I owned, on Empty some could go 50 miles (89 Chevy), but on others, empty gave me a few blocks (94 Ford), it all depends on the make/ year I guess.
I try and not find out now (04 ford). LOL

yeah for me the guages usually goes lets say 200 miles to half, then only 100ish to empty. my fz6 street bike sometimes the 1st bar seems to last the longest

My friends 660 Grizzly has 3 three bars and the first two go out when the ATV still is almost half full of gas.
He can get almost 45 miles on the last bar. Its just useless, but it still has a reserve atleast.
