Default Plz help

I have a 08 polaris sportsman 500 efi I just changed out my right rear axle. It was and now still is popping when turning sharp right. And wheel bearing was fine. Now I'm into it 4 100$ and hours of my labor and even more time reading up on it and I'm at a loss. It still popps only when turning right and not all the time. Some times it won't do it and it will never do it if I'm carrying weight or a passenger. And I really only hear it between letting off the gas and rolling to a stop. I don't get it I was sure it was a cv joint. Also left side axle was already replace. So its new. PlZ help. Any ideas? Oh there is no lack in performance either.

No its definitely coming from rear and I can't pin point it exactly. I really hope its not the transmission. Actually I do hear it when turning left but barely and it never does it going straight. Maybe its the nature of the beast. Like something clickin or popping to a stop in tranny.

what did they change that only cost $100.? it couldn't be a cv joint. it would not be normal for any noise like that. it usually is always a popping cv joint thats making that sound. imo

When you make a sharp turn either way the plunging joint(trans side) will extend outward and can make a "click/clacking" noise. If turning left, the right side usually makes the noise, turn right and usually the left side makes noise. If loaded down then the joints are pushed further in the body and are quiet! A lot of noise is actually from the plunging joints and not always the wheel side cv joint. Its just the slack they develop over time in the channels of the joint where the ***** slide up and back. You also can notice it in reverse and when on and off throttle. Nuisance I know, but this happens a lot! This system helps you get the highest suspension travel, versus such as the Mule in which the shaft slides together to allow for flexing. I've had my share of worn out cv joints and plunging joints. Sometimes just replacing a bad cv joint will just further increase noise levels from the plunging joint. OPT

Ok I got ya and I replace the rear right axle and the dealer replace the left rear axle when it was still under warranty. I got the rear right axle from cvman 4 $ 94.30. So should I just not worry about it!? Cuz I have to new axles and wheel bearings r fine.

Check the U-Joints they make funny noises when they get old. It must be coming from the front if it only happens when you turn.

Did they slam the rear axle into the tranny hard enough that the compression cir clip got into the tranny's grove.
