Default Temperature woes

Hi guys, previous owner of my ATP500 replaced water pump and hot wired fan so it runs all the time. my ride now flashes hot all the time, any ideals on why? should i start with easiest and work to hardest or is there something that by hot wiring fan would cause this?

On some when you disconnect the temp sensor the fan turns on, did you check to see that it is connected.

welcome to the forum. as mentioned he he bypassed the sensor to make the fan run all the time, then sensor bypass (like being unplugged)will kick on engine light. start by putting it back to where it was before it was messed with. these 500's usually never run hot unless there is something wrong. did you check the radaitor to make sure it was not plugged w/ mud on both sides as well. just a thought.

Thanks for the help guys, yeah i read on another site bout checking both sides of radiator and had done that and sprayed it out good with heavy duty cleaner and pressure washer( careful not to bend fins). I will try sensor and see if that works.

My son had a problem with this when he had the ATP. I couldn't figure it out so I took it to the dealership. They said it was a faulty radiator cap and fixed it for $30. I'd give it a try after you hook things back up the way they should be. After we had this done, it never ran hot again.
