I decided to start a new thread for some of the other problems I am having.Oh yea,I have a 97 sportsman 500.I removed the rear hubs tonight to replace the wheel bearings due to flop.Removed the bearings from the hub,no problem,but I cant find a # on the race or anywhere.I have done a ton of research and cant find any info past 99.they say a ford escort bearing will work on 99 and up but what about a 97.also I removed my belt cover due to wet belt happing and I can see marks like alittle water had been in there but everything else was clean.Any way can I use a jaw puller to remove the clutch or that 40 polaris toll that I can make for $500.thanks guys.sorry for the long post

The Rear bearing is BEARING-WHEEL,40X74X40MM

you are the MAN!! those are great prices>thats what i was looking for.I wanted to try to take it to a bearing house and match it up but at that price ,forget about it.Un fortunatly my local dealer is a idiot so Im trying not to due bus. with them

 

The rear bearing on the 97 is used on these ATVs as well if you find a automotive bearing that will work.

I imagine that bearing is used on many more models and years.

just ordered them up>Now if I can get this clutch off and check the rear seals to stop this wet belt issue I will be in bus.

 

probably the seal arount the clutch cover causing the leak
rear bearings should be Federal Mogal #510013 can get at parts house
