Question for EPI Chad

Default Question for EPI Chad

Will the new style clutches , like from 09 and up XP's work on the older machines? Is the belt lenghth ect the same ?

I`m no pro here but I think if there is going to be a problem with fit-ment it will be on the end of the crank. If the newer style clutch is an upgrade to your machine and the crank sizes are the same I wouldn`t worry to much about the belt because there are 100`s of sizes and my guess is the stock belt will work.
If someone else would chime in that knows to conferm.

just do a part number search on the polaris site to cross refence what the clutches will fit. i'm guessing if any thing the belts will be differnt.

no help with part #s, the xp clutches are actually cheaper to buy new than the 800 clutches, belts are different

the width is the same though, as long as there is clearance between the belt and the sheaves, should work.

I know the secondary clutch will only work on the 550 and 850 machines because they run the reverse direction of a normal clutch and the helix is cut the opposite direction. The primary clutch might be possible but i havent tried it. It does use the new style pull that you use on the rzr. I think you best bet is to get the right one for your machine.

and just a FYI, the 2011 550 and 850 XP have a totally new secondary clutch on them that will only work on the 550/850.
