Default Windshield question

Does anyone know if a lock and ride windshield for a 05 Sportsman 800 will fit a XP850 or vice versa? I'd like to buy just one and switch it between machines. I know they are model specific but hoped one might still fit on the other.

Also do the L&R windshield fit with the polaris 287722 Mirrors?

id say no on it fitting as the headlight pod on the xp is smaller than the regular sp. and the handel bars maybe differnt along with oem switchs may get in the way. so id say no.

I once used a Lock and Ride from a Sportsman on my XP. Yes it works but does hit around the pod area. I just took some duct tap and placed it where it was rubbing. After testing I did go purchase the correct type for the XP.

Any idea if the xp shield would work on the sportsman?

The pod is larger on the XP so I would say the XP shield would fit better on a SP then a SP shield on a XP.

Thanks guys, I'm going to go for the XP shield. The only trouble is now, I see they have two tall clear L & R shields for sale.

A 2876606 and a 2878392, both are listed for the XP. Whats up with that? I wish I had a dealer with them on display, so I could tell what the difference is between them.

Anyone have any ideas?

Default windshield

I looked at Polaris windshields & not crazy about how they look. Ended up buying a Quad Boss Flare windshield. Easy quick connect, colormatched to my Popo, good lines. Looks & works great. Ebay $139 + shipping.

Did you have any issues mounting windshield on the brake side, brake cable is in the way for lock and ride clamp
