Default 550 pound quad winch?

ok so i have 2 winches.... a champion 1500 pound winch and a black and decker 1000 pound winch, i own a 1998 polaris scrambler 400 4x4. so the 1500 pound winch is sorta broken. the nuts on the connectors were seized and i broke one off trying to get it off so i opened up the end cap and saw that the wires are all broken and such so id have to re solder the whole thing... so im wondering if the black and decker 1000 will work or i should fix the 1500 or if neither of them are strong enough

I had a Champion winch, it worked twice.

Use a tree saver and a ****** block, double the power of the 1000 pound and have more pull than the 1500 lb with no ****** block.

sounds like you may better off buying a newer heavier duty winch instead of fixing that one. you can find them pretty cheap on ebay or other spots. the only bad thing about using a snach block is that you use double the cable and you might be too far away from a pulling point so maybe an extra strap or chain will help in that case. just a thought.

I have a 97 425 that probably weighs 600 pounds, have a 1500 pound super winch that was purchased about the same time, it has "done the job" but its not enough, get at least a 2500 lb winch
