Modified trailblazer with 34mm carb help!
#1
Anyone running a modified trailblazer with a 34mm scrambler carb out there? been running mine for a while but recently did a rebuild and replaced the 2 seals on the crank because I had some melting on the top of the piston. Now I cant get the thing to run correctly anymore. It will either just bog or bog then start runnign good and backfire. Cant figure it out. So I was wondering who else has a 34mm scrambler carb on their 250? What is your jetting setup? Im going between 180-200 and all needle positions and cant get it straightened out. help!

ya Ive always had a ping and idle issues but it always ran. I went up to a 190 cleaned the carb now it runs but still pings and bogs every so often. Im gonna go up to a 200 see if it smoothens out. If it does Ill grab a 210 as well and see how it goes. I think maybe Ive always been running to lean..... The temp outside is from 20-40 now with the winter and elevation is about sea level.

believe me I do after every ride. Its greyish and real dry, Im thinking Ill just keep upjetting. Probably hunt down a 210 and 220 jet tommorow. I put the 200 in and needle in the lowest position and it still bogs and pings a little. It only starts to bog when it warms up and Ive been on the gas. Im also gonna spray ether (sp?) around all the boots and seals to make sure im not getting a air leak.

i have the needle set at full rich so the lowest groove. my compression should be perfect it was just rebuilt because I melted the top of the piston and only had 30lbs compression. I cannot remember hte last time i ran it with the standard carb. Maybe 5 years ago.
