I have a 04 700 efi sportsman with no awd in forward it works in reverse and I have checked all wiring switches and clutch coil all to spec as per service manual is there a problem inside the hillard clutch.

is the awd light on the speedo on when its lock in either forward or reverse? it's working in reverse only when the override is pushed right?

 

Yes the light is on in speedo and it is in awd when the override swith is not pushed when pushed awd turns of the awd

 

Unplug wires at front dif fand see if there is 12 volts to diff, spray some penetrating oil in plug, Ive seen them not make connection, if ther is 12 volts with key, awd switch, speedo ect in forward then its internal, cage, armature plate ect
