Today I was pushing snow. Found that when I first started the machine, it idled good. If I give it a little gas and then go back to idle it dies. I changed the spark plug, it was burned to about .060 and I was surprised it ran at all. Afterwords I find it has the same problem. Start it up and it idles. As soon as I give it gas and release the throttle, it dies. If I hold the throttle slightly, it will continue to run. Let off and it dies. Does this hot, cold, choke on, choke off. Just started doing this out of the blue. Carb problem, maybe? Fresh oil, clean air filter, proper spark plug.

The esiest thing to check first, is the electronic throttle control. It's on the right handlebar, just pop the top off and look inside , you should see a couple metal contacts, make sure that that there is a gap of 1/16" to 1/8". adjustment is thru the throttle cable further down the handelbar.

@ 4getful2 : Thanks. Problem solved. And @ TLC : Thanks for the video. It helped me know where to adjust the cable. There was no gap in the points. Well, except when it was first started. After it was throttled up once, the points made contact.
Thanks again. It's gotta be easier on the transmission to be able to let it go back to idle before shifting.
