Default stuck in awd

just bought a 04 700 the problem is that its locked in awd. with the switch on it works as it should, in reverse the over ride button doesnt work and 4x4 is on, in 2wd mode all 4 wheels spin, can not get it in to 2wd,
now the speedo is broke i have read that the awd system goes though the speedo but all i can find are posts that there bike won't go into awd, the oppisite of mine, i only paid 1200 buck for this atv starting to look like not such a good deal!

sounds like the front roller cage is broke in the front diff, john deere makes a better cage for it at a much better price, and ur speedo does need to work for the awd to work, ive seen one machine like that, the roll cage broke, replaced it, now, theres no awd, replaced the speedo, problem solved

took the front diff out of the bike today and brought to the local polaris dealer he split it in front of me and it was perfect inside, nothing broken almost zero wear, the oil was full and clean, and zero debris inside case, put it all back together waiting on the speedo to0 see if it fixes it, im just dumbfounded.

may have been hot wired to the hub coil where it stays on all the time but still should not be pulling all the time unless it has diff. tire sizes on it
