Default does the front diff oil really matter???

my '04 700 was stuck in awd, after replacing "everything and i mean everything" in the front diff i got it to work in 2wd. problem....... now it only works in 2wd, the speedo is brand new, the cage is new a-plate new shim kit, coil is good, ohms good, volts good, indicator light works,

the awd drive will only engage in high if i spin the rear wheels 20,30 mph. as soon as i go in reverse it stops working,.........

the local dealer sold me "lt" fluid for the front. i dont have adc could it be i fixed the "problem" and now the oil is messing with me????????????

i bought this atv for 1200 bucks and thought i got a good deal, now i have 2500 in it, and its still not fixed!, if i wanted to spend 3000 i wouold of bought one that wasn't broken!

please help this is getting old.

Yes the correct oil is very important! Still doesn't sound like you fixed the problem.
You have to hold the override button in for AWD to work in reverse.

i hate to say it, but you MUST use the polaris front oil as it is designed(no, i don't know how or why) to be used w/ the hillard set up and others have ran into the same issue w/ the awd not working using the wrong oil. not saying that is your issue, but others have ran into it. imo

What? your other 3 didn't? AWD?

The overide button also activates the AWD in reverse along with the rev limiter. Did you know that?

The older hub System also had Hillary's, they had a Hillary in each hub and both had stronger metal roller cages. Must stronger set up back then vs a single Hillary with a plastic cage.

I think there is a different Oil for the hub set up, diff set up and ADC set up. Talk about confusing.

Then get the wrong oil out and cleaned out good and try the correct oil, if its OK inside it will work. Does the 4WD light on the gauge light up in foward and reverse?

How are you testing it, if wheels are off the ground and you run it to 20-30 mph and jam the AWD in it will bust something. It only takes 1 screw up to bust the front hillard

Not trying to be smart but I've seen quite a few stupid things.

that didnt work!

drained flushed, filled with demand drive oil, didnt work, drained and refilled, still the same thing,.

2 wd works fine, turn on switch, the indicator comes on, no awd, can get it to go into awd by spinning the back wheels 20-30 mph! once in it stays in. put in revese push override button, indicator comes on, nothing! go back to forward, and indicator light on, no awd till i "slam it home". at this point i'm just gonna live with it till it "explodes" or i "have a fire" !!!!!!!!!!
