Default Quick Question

Just had the choke replaced. Runs great mid range and full out. Sluggish going slow and getting started (slow range???) Do I need to adjust the choke? Or enrichment valve?

did you make sure it was seated all the way down when you installed? does it run better if you pull the enrichner out or worse at low speed? if worse then its getting too much gas. if better then it sounds like your low speed circuit or pilot jet is partly plugged. imo

shouldn't be a clog I just had the carb cleaned. I have the pilot set to factory specs. The half choke will crank it but almost imediatly shut it down. It's like... set choke 1/2 crank switch off choke or it bogs and dies. Choke too "tight" perhaps??? Sorry I'm new to this but slowly making my way. Can I adjust the choke in or out?

As long as the choke lever has about 1/8" free play at the flip lever, the choke isn't the problem. Choke can be adjusted at top of carb, just loosen 10mm lock nut and screw adjuster at cable end out or in to get the needed play at the lever. If this doesn't help, then sounds like carb problem either in jetting,fuel/air,etc OPT

I adjusted the choke cable and it seems to be running much better. Plus it's doing it's job. With full choke on it fires it right up. Half choke it idles high but running. Choke off it's now running fairly smooth in all ranges. I still have some tinkering to do with it. But I think I'm on the right track. I also need to adjust the shift linkage i think. Going into low gear or reverse it's fine (pops right in). But going into high it clicks two or three times to get in. According to Haynes it won't be too hard to adjust. Any real world advice before I tackle this one?

BTW Thanks guys for all your help.

just make sure not to over adjust so it won't work good in the reverse/low but works good in high if you know what i mean.
