Default 06 sportsman 800 trouble

i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on my 06 sportsman 800,ive been around polaris atvs for awhile and am mechanically inclined, but im a newb when it comes to efi, so machine was running great, but battery was getting bad,(cranking hard) then it sat a couple months, and battery died, so i jumped it with my truck, started right up,idles fine but if you try to ride it,and give it throttle it has no power, backfires and just runs like crap. i since put abrand new battery in but same problem.polaris dealer was no help. any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Could be bad fuel if sitting up for a while, I would change that, plus check air filter and plugs. If still have idle, popping back problems could be efi related. Check for codes on display. Check sensor wiring for chaffing, broken wires. Repair harness kits available for T-bap,Tps sensors,etc.. OPT

What OPT said. For the T-bap which seems to be a common problem on the 700 & 800 take a look at this link.http://forums.atvconnection.com/pola...ap-wiring.html

does sound like electrical like the tbap harness. make sure the plug plug wire/plug is good and maybe put does dieletric grease in the cap. sometimes they break down and spark will be jumping through. imo
