Default Polaris Question

Hey Guys!

Was just looking at my predator, and underneath the water pump, there seems to be a small hole (under 1/4" diameter). I couldnt tell if it was threaded or not, my question is, is taht just a breather or somehting or is there suppose to be something in the hole?

Also, my shocks seem to have gotten sqeeky over the winter, is tehre grease zerks or somthing on the shocks?

And lastly, none of my dash lights are working, i checked them with a meter and they all got power to them, and teh bulbs arent burnt out. Is there some kind of relay or breaker or something that would make this not work??

Thanks guys!

Weep hole is to show if water pump seal leaks just like the old cars had
bushings are usually the culprit, get hard and dry, shoot a little Wd-40 or P- blaster, will usually stop squeeks
Has power to dash and bulbs ok you say? There are two circuit breakers a 20amp main and 10 amp generally for the fan. If you have 12 volts to indicator lights connection as you say, then has to be bulbs?? but not all go out at same time! I would check the left control switch, possibly the 10 amp thermal fuse in the black pouch.

Thanks for the help! Yes I have power up to all teh lights, was maybe thinking that the reverse/neutral safety switch (down by front sprocket) went bad and that was the problem but havent been able to check it yet. And about the circuit breakers in the black bags, is there a way i can test them? And Im not for sure if my fan is working or not (havent test drove it lately) but when i start up the quad the fan doesnt come on, dont know if it is suppose to right away or not though.

Thanks!

Fan doesn't just come on automatically! Has to reach certain temp.Just use a test light on each red wire going into and out of pouch. If one side has no power, check it out! Fan sensor could be another problem if fan isn't working,or fan motor itself! Just run it awhile and see if fan kicks on. OPT

okay thanks! i will go test out teh circuit breakers with a test light! I jsut tried taking the neutral/reverse safety switch off, and i figured it would be just the 2 screws, but i took them out and pried a little and i didnt come off. I didnt want to keep prying in case i would break something. Is tehre somehthing behind there holding it on, or do i just have to pry harder?

thanks again

If its like most of the switches on all the other machines,it has plastic levers that push up on contacts. Should pry out, just make sure machine is in neutral. Never had to pull one myself,so just a guess comparing switch to other models. OPT

i took the switch off, and checked to see if i had power all the way back to the sensor, and I do. But my lights still dont work? Any ideas? once teh switch is taken off the engine, there is a little spring in there, im assuming that is waht is suppose to make the lights turn on (or os there suppose to be something inside the spring that needs to make contact with the sensor?), is tehr anyway the spring could be broken or something? this has me stumped

Looking at the parts breakdown there is a neutral point(or plunger, ball bearing? not sure) and a spring which contacts the shift drum index points. Possibly internals of switch damaged, plus check inside at end of shift drum for any wear or damage at that point. Wish I could help more, haven't had to replace a neutral switch on a Predator! OPT

OPT, you have been a great help thus far!! what do you mean by, there is a neutral point(or plunger, ball bearing?) When i take the switch off i have 2 contacts on that (neutral and reverse contacts), and on the shifter drum thing, there is just a spring?

Thanks!

Look at your model parts breakdown on Pure Polaris Parts Catalog online, hopefully this will help! OPT
