Default 3 wheel drive

i had my atv high centered yesterday trying out my new sedona ripsaw tires(review post in tires/suspension section)

my brother said i had only one front tire turning for a few seconds till i got on and off throttle again, the all 4 were getting power

i figured it was when i left off gas and awd dissengaged and tire not in air stopped while other spun, but he said it was when under power.

is this possible? fluids are good and had no other awd issues?

they either spin both front or an axle or cv are broke, jack all wheels off the ground and see what its doing, see if you can stop one while under power

i can climb a brick wall with either front tire in awd, so no issue if i can climb with one wheel in air

so this isnt mechanically possible to happen intermitently? i cant duplicate what he saw, but he swears i had one turning and one still.

When the Plastic roller cage starts to break down the,AWD will act up in different odd ways. Some people have AWD in reaverse and not forward and vice versa.

Maybe he was just seeing things.LOL

TLC Are you talking about the cage in the front differential?

yes he is refering to the plastic roller cage in the front housing. this bike has a center hillard style vs having the outside hubs on the wheels. never seen where when the cage is broke or going bad that only one wheel turns. seems very strange that he saw only one.

well front diff was getting losse so i rebuilt it with an all ***** kit bearing kit. roller cage was fine but all bearings had play. @ 2600 miles/ 300 hours. after seeing inside it could be possible to have 3wd if half of cage broke but mine was perfect. after rebuild and cleaning i can drive in awd and actually have front disengage now where as before it took a while to revert to 2wd.
front axle splines had some wobble(which i thought was due to bearings). which i hear is normal but duct tap on splines tightend that up.
