1999 Polaris Scrambler 500
I am looking at a 1999 Polaris Scrambler 500. It comes with a winch, plow and has good bear claw tires. What should I look for when I go and look at it. I know how to check the wheel bearing, tie rods, the steering and chain and sprockets but thats about all. How do you check to see if the fox shock at the back is good. What should i look for in the rad and how do i tell if the engine is good. Is $2800 a good price for this bike.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

if it has a plow then i would be betting the clutch buttons are worn since there is no low range and maybe a worn belt as well. in either 99 or 00' (not sure which year if not both) some 500's had bad cams. i would look at swing arm bushings as well if worn out. nowing if the hub fluid and or the rest of fluids has been changed regularly is important as well. too me the price is a little high.
