Default fuel leak 2008 rzr

Have a fuel leak at the fuelpump were it goes into the tank.
My polaris dealer sayes i must buy a new tank with the fuelpump already
inside. well over 500.00 bucks. Tryed new o-ring[polaris did not have one
so i got a match at hardware store] did not help. any ideas.

so its leaking from the o-ring that is under the pump?is the tank cracked, did you clean out the groove before you tried the new o-ring?try a little grease on the o-ring , I can give you a number for a new pump, its an -airtex E-8198 or carter 7000, these fit the 800 sportsman, should work on rzr, can get them at parts store for around $120

Default still trying to stop a leak

took fuelpump back out cheaked o ring. put back in with a little more tork
[38lbs] wating for battery to charge back up so i can try it.

My BIL took his RZR in before coming to Colorado in July and told the dealer to check it over and do anything necessary. We go for a ride in the mountains and the fuel tank is leaking. Now today he tells me he found a notice on the web of a recall for a fuel leak that the dealer never checked for and it was still under warranty in July. He is looking at the same $500 for a tank if the dealer does not fix it or the recall is only for warranty work. He was going to call Polaris tomorrow but I told him to start with the dealer and work his way up.
