Polaris Hawkeye Bent Rear Wheel
#1
I had my Hawkeye up on jack stands, to test the 4 wheel drive, since I'll be using it this winter. I noticed the back right wheel wobbled a lot. So I switched the two back wheels, to see if it was the bearing or something. It ended up that the wheel is bent. I would prefer to replace it with an OEM wheel... but they're 75-85 dollars depending on the website! Is there any way I can just straighten the rim out? I was thinking about buying some nice aluminum rims, but I don't want to spend all that money.

If no one on the forum has an answer for you then I would just get a new rim! Its about $75 at Cycle Parts Warehouse. If the rim is pretty well bent, not too much you can do with it! Plus all it will do if its bent bad enough is put pressure on the rear carrier bearing by wobbling around?? OPT

Thanks, it isn't horribly bent, it only starts to become obvious around 20 miles per hour, while on jack stands. I was worried about bearings... I'm not sure how big of a deal it is though. Thanks for the input, I'll probably buy a new rim soon...

Try craigslist or ebay for cheap oem replacements-most people upgrade tires/rims right away and sell the stockers cheap. 25" tires on stock 12" rims will bolt right up if you want to go bigger. Get a little added lift that way too. Did that with my daughter's 300sp.
