want to introduce myself and ask for some help

hi all just got my first polaris its a 93 sportsman 350 4x4. my main concern at the moment is trying to get it to start. we rode it all summer stored it for a month and it fired right up. it ran great warmed it up and my father revved it close to halfway for about a min which it then popped and stopped running as if it either lost spark or ran out of gas. there is a fresh half tank of fuel in it new plug and it wont start. i completely cleaned the carb and reeds it has a yellow spark but seems like its not getting fuel. crank it for a while pull the plug and its dry. starting fluid is making no difference. did a compression test says 0 but found out after the gauge was faulty. pulled head and everything looks brand new inside cylinder is smooth as glass not even scratched sorry so long but i am new to 2 strokes and am lost as well as no money to send it to the shop. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

welcome to the forum. hopefully you saw cross hatch marks on the cyclinder when you looked it. it would be really helpful if you can get a good compression test to make sure you have at least 100 psi. how did the spark plug look? was it white tipped or more browm. white is bad being it would be lean and could burn down. however you say the piston, rings and the cyl are all in good shape? might have blown a crank seal, how was the head gasket? just a couple of things it might be.

You have to have a drive clutch puller(about 30 bucks) If it is the crank seal, like I said usually it's this one! There are TWO on the the other side and you have to have a puller for the magneto flywheel, plus pull the water pump and the outer case to replace these, but haven't had one of these pop out as they are a lot more secure! Try the drive clutch side first and you'll probably find the problem! Keep us updated! OPT

ok oredered the seal today will be here monday or tuesday. had to find it on ebay due to the fact that polaris discontinued the crank seal behind the clutch yet they still make the other two. oh well hopefully this is the problem. any idea what the threads are for the bolt i need cuz im going to try the bolt trick to remove the clutch i just cant afford the puller right now unfortunately

Pure Polaris Parts still list the seal as #3084122 and the two on the right as #3084120? Could have updated? Never measured the pitch on the factory puller, but others have made their own out of I believe 5/8 bolts, can't remember what pitch? Even though the engine bolts are metric, the hole tapped for the clutch is standard( that 's Polaris for you
you have to have metric and standard tools to work on em! Hopefully members that have done this will give you the right bolt and pitch! OPT

As machines get older (usual 10 year limit on a lot of different motorcycles, atvs, etc) some parts start showing up NLA,but you can always match seals, bearings, etc at parts house, plus I'm not certain, but the 400 crank seal will probably fit ? PS before I had my Honda (20 years old now) I had a 1976 Rd 400 Yamaha I restored and later sold and talk about parts being NLA and hard to find
