Over fill the oil? Read the manual on how to check and fill. Some must run for a few minutes to get an accurate reading.

Sorry, should have been a bit more specific. The 850 XP's from 2009 - 2011 had an issue with oil getting into the airbox after some hard riding or wheelies or some steep inclines. Just wondering if the 2012 models have the same issue or did Polaris finally get a fix for it.

there was a lymbrith fix for the ones that were bad, more than just blowby residue.
The newer ones should be fixed but i have no first hand experiance.

I had this replaced on my 2011 in October with 2012 parts. No issues sense this and it was all under warranty.

I have seen it happen on many ATVs. It gets in from the crank case vent line. it happens for a few reason.

ATV tip over.

ATV did many steep hill rides

Oil was over filled and the crank vent line blows the excesses into the air box.

my 2011 850 duse not have oil in the air box after the 2012 parts put on. As long as u dont over flow the oil you should not have to worrie or if u roll the bike upside down ride it slow (30 an under) for about first 15 min and u should not worrie
