98 400 explorer question

Do the 98 400 explorer have front shaft or chain and do the have that eccentric or what ever you call it at the rear.How much groung clearance do they have and would you recomend a 98

No front shaft on the 98s. This is the older design which use the 3 chain system. If you are looking for a used Xplorer, go with a 99 or newer as there were several good changes in the 99s.
