Default 04 magnum 330 cv boot.

I am sure this has been covered before but i gotta ask. I have a ripped cv boot and ordered a new one for the left front ( looking at the atv). There is only 1 boot on each side and it is closest to the wheel. Do I have to take the whole shaft out or can i just take the boot off or just the joint. I have seen videos on this and everyone is taking the whole shaft out, but it seems like they have 2 boots on their shafts in which i dont. This bike has a u joint instead of a cv joint before it meets the front diff , if i dont have to take the whole shaft out I dont want to. I could use some advice as I dont know what the H***** Iam doing. But I like to learn and it cant be that hard as I feel iam mechanically able, but want to make sure before I dive in.. Thanks

if you rip a cv boot on the wheel side(like yours) you do not have to take the whole shaft out to reaplace it. sometimes it's easier as you have it on a bench or vice to work with, but you can replace it on the bike.
