Question Polaris 250cc 2 stroke

Can anyone list the 250cc 2 stroke 4x4 atvs that Polaris have made in the last 15 years?

There was the Cyclone, that was back in 1980s, the only other ones I can think of are the Trail Blazer (sporty) and Trail Boss (utility). I don't know if the Big Boss 6 wheeler was originally a 250cc 2 stroke, they made a lot of them with different engines.

If you can latch on to a 2000 model Explorer 250 they were in my opinion the best 250 setup with chain rear drive and cvs on the front. Sold all we could get from Polaris. OPT

What is the advantage of having a rear chain drive and front cvs?

Simpler, but got you there just as well as any Polaris. A bit rougher on the ride compared to the independent rear suspension on the Sportsmans, etc because of the straight axle, but the old farmers and ranchers we sold em to loved em and didn't do much hill climbing ! Just a good work horse or all around utility atv at the time. OPT

Would it be a good atv for riding down trails for fun including rough trails with lots of rocks?

If you have plenty of rear end padding But you might be better of with a Trail blazer,Scrambler, etc.mainly because they have more clearance, not much, but a little. BEST to talk to the guys that ride em,not a guy that repaired em! OPT
