Unhappy Predator 500 Engine swap

Hi guys,

Ive just bought myself a road legal Predator, I went out on it for the first time today and the engine blew as soon as i got into second gear - bits of piston rings in the oil (beyond gutted). I have a good mechanic/welder friend that says he has a Husky 610 race engine with low miles, and that he will put it in for me if its do-able. Before i arrange transport for the quad to his place, can anyone tell me if it will fit? Im also worried that something may get in the way of the kickstarter. And if any other engines will fit in without too much work? Hes a real dab hand at making new mounts and exhausts but I dont really want to mess around with the frame/swingarm etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

I can't see how you would avoid any fabrications to the frame and swingarm. Might be minor ones but I wouldn't think going to a bigger and different brand of motor would be a straight drop in.

Just check the VIN. If it starts with a 1 or 4 it's American made, not a Chinese knock-off.
