2007 Polaris Scrambler for mud
#1
I would like to set up my 2007 Scrambler to have more fun in the mud, does anybody know what I could do to increase ground clearance and improve tires without killing belts? I have only gone through one the whole time I owned the ride but I know some guys that have changed their clutches and killed belts all the time.

You can go a little bigger on the tires, but you aren't going to gain a whole lot there. The Scrambler simply isn't designed for serious mudding. If you want to do serious mudding, you will need a Sportsman or some other large utility quad.

well with the 500 fourstroke that has good bottom end. bigger tires will work. The
transmission from a xplorer 400 will give you low range.
either way with 25's you should walk all over the heavy bikes in muskeg/swamp riding.
In regular mud the heavy bikes aren't as much of a disadvantage.
different clutching will help the belt problems.

You can also use a trans out of a 2000 sportsman 6x6. That is what I did. I also went with 12x26" tires all around. The sportsman used 24" all around so the offset front to rear is a non issue. The sportsman also has a better low gear ratio to pull larger tires and heavier loads. I also lengthened my swing arm three inches. I wish I went with 28" now.
