Default 550 fuel mileage - How is it?

How is the mileage/range on the 550's? Researching my next bike. Just state your riding conditionds too please.

Road riding, trails, and snow plowing is what I do.

I find most all ATVs more or less average 20 miles per gallon.

Seems like most of the people that kept track of their mileage on Sportsman 500s which we sold the most of were between 10-15 miles per gallon at the best. Some may have gotten better. Just depends on terrain and how heavy your thumb is on the throttle. I didn't hang around long enough to hear from people on the XP550 and 850. Had one guy that weighed almost 400 pounds complain on the 10 mpg he got on a new 500. Had to bite my tongue to keep from telling him he was lucky to get that. OPT

I'd have to agree my 500 would get 100 miles to a tank and my new Grizzly will easily do the same . Actually my 700 might be better on gas I't close and its tank is bigger

10-15 miles per gallon is on the low side, I set my trip meter on my 500 and it will hit 100 miles with its 5.25 Gallon tank. 10- 15 is more what my 500 Polaris XC could do and its a 500 twin 2 stroke pushing 85 hp not a 35hp 500 4 stroke, and a snowmobile has much less glide/coast when you let off the throttle like a wheeled ATV has.

Compared to Sleds and PWC ,ATV are great on gas in comparison.

I don't know about the 550, but my 500EFI drinks just about as much as my old 700EFI!
