2007 sportsman 800 electrical problem

Last time I had the bike out I drove it out and shut it off. 1 1/2 hrs later I went to start it and It had no power. No gauges, no lights NOTHING. I have checked fuses, Battery and connections. So far this is what I have traced out. There is 1 hot wire at the switch, 1 hot wire at the ECU, 2 hot wires at the regulator and the fuses show to be hot.
Any ideas?

If you have 12 volts to the battery,fuse block,and power to the ignition switch,but no power to the gauge when you turn the switch on,could be as simple as the switch shorting out. You can ohm out the switch or use a small jumper wire from on the switch harness connector from the hot wire(red/black I think?) to red/white or black to see if the speedo has power. OPT

Have you disconnected the battery negative cable for a few minutes and hooked back up to see if rebooting helps, Plus do you show between 12.5-12.8 battery voltage with key off? OPT

Back several months ago when it happened we took the battery out and carched it completely and put it back in with no change. I just went back to work on it. Right now the Battery is at 11.8 I will try unhooking and charging and then hooking it back up.

Charge it up and have it load tested at any auto store. Problems your having could be as simple as a dead cell and need a replacement battery.Plus if you get it started make sure it's charging 14 volts back to the battery. OPT

Back at it after dental surgery. Disconnected the battery and charged it. Hooked it back up no difference. I am afraid that the porblem is coming from the ECU but am trying to be sure before spending that money. This thing was running, turned off and has never showed powered after the key was turned on again.

BUT have you had the battery load tested after you charged it up?? Can show 12 volts,but can have a shorted cell and not function properly. Eliminate the battery first,then if it's good,on to tracing what other problems it might be. OPT

If the battery has load tested good,the ignition switch has power(and has been switched out) along with the regulator having power and voltage going to the ecu and fuses and the inline circuit breaker in front of the fuse box (strapped to the harness) all show good,then might be best to have it hooked up to the Digital Wrench software because if it is an ecu problem,a new ecu would have to be programmed to the machine.Plus it could just be a short that the diagnostics could pick up instead of an ecu which could save you $ in the long run..
