I just purchase a atv from my local dealer and I love it. This thing can kick some but. There is a kid down the road from me, He has a blaster and thinks that that machine is the baddest thing on earth. I know that I don't have the best one on earth but this thing will beat this yamaha in a second with out a doubt. I think that I will bring it home and show him what a real atv looks like.

Hey Sport,

My son just got the Sport 400 too and he loves it! I myself have been on it and it kind of brings out the kid in me a little. It is a lot of fun, But we found out today that he is limited in the backwoods riding that we can do together since my ride is the Magnum 500 and I can go places that he can only watch me. However he smokes me when we try a fast run down the straights and cornering!

Have fun with your Sport and just grin at the guy with the blaster, haha.

Hello,

Hey, I would like to know where your 4 wheeler can go, that the Sport 400 wont ? ) hehe.

I too own a Sport 400, and I cant think of anywhere or anything it wont do, or go, that another 4 wheeler of any kind could.

Since this post is on the Sport 400, I will add a little info of my own. )

I raced a 1999 400EX , 200 Yards, Slightly uphill. We raced 6 times. I beat it 3 out of 6 times, and the other 3 we tied.

In case others will argue about this, we raced 2 from a stop, 2 while alread moving about 20 Mph, and 2 more with the 400EX starting in second gear.

The driver of the 400EX was a former Racing enthusiast, and knew how to run that sucker.. All in all, he was impressed.

Any other Sport 400 Bragging rights, please post em. Cya all.

Nothing against the Sport, but there was a 400EX guy claiming the same thing. Take any 2 wheel drive ATV and try to go through some of the mud holes and bogs my buddy and I ride through. YOU WILL NOT MAKE IT!!! I don't own a 4 wheel drive. I use his wife's 400 Scrambler because my 2WD can't make it. 4WD machines crawl over logs a bunch better too. I've spent some time muscling my 2WD over logs my buddy crawls over with ease.

weibz,

You just need to sit down and think about that a little more. Four wheel drive was invented for a reason.....to go where two wheel drive won't! It's not any more complicated than that.

By the way my son loves his Sport 400 and doesn't at this time want anything but. I like it too, it's just not what I want. And therein lies the unending saga!

My sport is not as you would say the top atv on the market but this thing will kick some serious but when used right. Now I have not raced against anyone with a 400ex but from what I am hearing this thing is awesome. I would not trade this thing for anything in the world. I have had this thing almost full speed which is probably 65-70 mph. That was on the beach. I passed a few yamaha's with the riders in awe.

Jerry,

My sincere correction. Of course the MUD, I was even thinkin about deep mud ( personally dont go muddin too much).

The riding that I do around my parts, consists mainly of woods trails, and Hill Climbs. Thats pretty much what I based the post on. I also didnt mean it to be an arguement with you, I was just braggin a little. ).

No doubt Id get stuck in some severe mud.

Keep ridin Polaris, they kick ***.

weibz:

No appology needed....I was having a bit of a down day then and probably took it to seriously. Probably a case of male PMS or something.

My son and I, neither one have much experience at riding ATV's and we're trying to figure out what we can and shouldn't do with them. I think there may be areas here, like really steep rocky terrain that a guy has to just creep over that low range awd is the only safe way thru. With the sport being 2wd and no low range tends to make me a little nervous about the attempt.

Sorry didn't mean to sound to harsh on you!

Jerry,
I ride with Weibz and he doesnt go in the mud at all. If we are on a trail and there is a puddle he will go great distances just so he misses the mud (or water). He doesnt want to get his little quad dirty!!!
Just picking on ya Weibz.
Have a good one.
