Default Aftermarket EBS options?

Are there any aftermarket clutch companies that sell an EBS kit for my Sportsman? Called my dealer, part number for the 400HO is discontinued, but the 500HO kit should work. Price was $613 plus taxes for the primary, secondary and new belt.

i would go on ebay or another selling site and buy them alot cheaper. basicly most of them are the same(ebs clutches) and you could just replace the weights and springs.

Your weights and spring from your clutch if they are different weights on the clutch you get. OPT

Thanks OPT. Do I have to change the secondary too, or just primary and belt?

Are you going from a NON ebs to an ebs complete system? If so you have to buy both front and rear clutches as the non ebs rear clutch won't work. Already had one guy try this on the forum. OPT

Thanks. Maybe I will look for a set of used clutches. $613 is a lot to swallow.

What should I look out for when buying used clutches? Is the non ebs clutch cover the same?

My 2012 400HO is non ebs. Will the 500HO EBS clutch work on mine? Dealer said the 400 kit is discontinued, but the 500 is still current.

500 ebs clutches should fit as your 400 is a Fugi motor, basically the same as the 500 and the crank shaft diameter should be the same. Buying used clutches is the same as buying a used car! You never know what you'll get. Unless someone has a wrecked one and selling good parts. Might be hard to find a set that won't need a little work on?? OPT

Remember guys, the 400HO has 4 clutches.

Starting clutch, drive clutch, driven clutch, & braking clutch.

Or is that just on the older (2008) ones?
