Default Foam filter oil

so i was told that K&N isn't the best filter oil to use on my UNI air filter, so i bought a bottle of viral lubricants filter oil, because it was the last on the shelf. How good is this stuff? how do i put it on the filter, and can i still clean my filter with the K&N cleaner?

My friend with a foam filter puts the clean filter in a zip-lock bag, adds oil and kneads the oil into the filter. You don't have to get your hands all covered in oil. Of course you still have to handle it some.

Good question. The only foam filter I have is on my lawnmower. I soak it then wring out all that I can.

When the whole filter is covered with oil! Just do as jumbofrank suggested. Squirt oil all over the filter, drop in a zip lock bag and massage the filter thoroughly. Don't wring out the filter to remove any excess oil as this just wears out the filter. If you have any doubts on the K&N cleaner just use soap and warm water to clean it and let dry, then oil it up.That's what I do on the UNI on my old Honda.I've had this filter for years. OPT

If you can't find uni oil, try No-Toil is nearly the same thing. I've been using it in place of the UNI brand and it easier to find at most ATV/ motocross shops.
