Default Plow discousion? 2004 sportsman 500

Hi im new to the forum and im not sure if im posting in the right area but im planning on buying a used plow with a very small budget of 400$. I am looking at a 60" poly plow (not sure of brand) or a brp (can am?) 60" steel plow, im wondering if im able to weld myself a new mounting bracket for the brp plow and id love to know peoples opinions on steel vs poly!

I would stick to a steel plow. The poly might not be heavy enough and might ride up over the snow.

I'd go with steel as well. My steel plow is still too light to scrape down to the concrete.

I would agree. I have a 60 inch steel Moose "County" Plow on my 2003 Sportsman 500 (works great). I thinkI paid a little over 400 brand new...not inluding a winch. I've never used poly, but I agree it might be too lite.

Thanks for the replies everyone! im convinced to go with the steel, but now im looking at either the glacier II plow system, a moose plow, or an off brand, anybody have any opinions on them or on other plows i should be looking into? Im trying to find the cheapest 60" plow for my polaris sportsman 500 ($350 or less)

I love the quick attach system on the glacier plows. I also like how the plow attaches mid and rear points on the plow harnesd. Gives more strength.

Some people on here had problems with the Glacier 2 mounts bending, but some people haven't had any trouble. It seems like the majority weren't happy. Hopefully more people with the G2 will reply.
