Default Scrambler 400 issue

I have a 2001 polaris scrambler 400with a motor bored .020 over with about 7 hours and the carb has been rebuilt but after riding for about one min it won't rev up very fast it will after a while but it takes a long time. It runs perfect once you take off. The mechanic said it is going to be a bit rich. And for instance I had it floored for about 5min and it wouldn't rev up or go over about 10 mph and it feels as if There's no bottom end power and it just feels weak my buddy on a Honda trx250 can drive circles around me

I've checked both the belt and clutch I didn't hear any metallic noise from the secondary but the carb was cleaned before he put it on the rebuilt motor

What about the rear clutch ramp buttons? Plus a lot of people overlook crank seals when they just do top ends. If they leak, they could be the cause or part of your problems.

The clutch has to be taken apart! It's not that hard, but best to have manual that you can reference to or just unbolt it and take it to the dealer. On these I charged 1/2 hr labor to change out the ramp buttons, but you might ask first..plus here's a link to a pdf manual that can show you a few things. It's for two different machines, but have the same rear clutch. Index of /ORV Manuals/Polaris/Trail Blazer/2003
