Default anyone know or use this DRAGON ATV OIL

i was buying 2 new mud bug tires , i was looking at this atv oil i never heard about before

the 2 stroke / 4 stroke oils contain CASTOR oil

anyone have any knowledge / experience with this brand of oil

google search has not yielded any good hits

Unless it's a new oil,haven't seen this Canadian oil down here in Texas and we stocked a lot of different brands at the shop. Maybe some of the other guys have unless it's not exported to the states??

yes it is a new oil , i am told they have only been manufacturing it since november of last year

a question for you old polaris tech

this is my 1st 2 stroke engine

if i remember correctly , 2 stroke oils that contains castor oil aren`t they supposed to be mixed at a higher fuel to oil mixture
i know this trail boss 350L utilizes the suzuki 2 stroke engine

i am not sure if they ship to the states , but another snowmobile forums shows a lot northern U.S sledders driving across the border to get their hands on this product

they state this 2 stroke oil with castor greatly improves cold weather start-a-bility

The 350 is a Fuji made engine. Fuji Heavy industries owns Subaru,Robin engines and Robin parts,the major supplier of Polaris parts. As far as oil on this engine any good tcw3 rated oil is ok. Polaris oil,Wally World oil,Penzoil,Quick silver,Amsoil,etc. You don't have to use synthetic,but imo it does seem to mix better and lubricate better. Or you can just use Klotz castor oil,etc if you wish. The main thing is don't mix different brands together in the oil tank if you're still running the oil pump and not premixing.If your premixing ,down here 40-1 works the best,any richer on oil just makes em run boggy and fouls plugs. You need to talk to some people up north about what they use. Only snowmobiles we see down here are on trailers heading your way..

as i have been reading lately

the polaris dealership where i deal with told me to disconnect the oil resevoir hose at the filter and let it drain into a container for several hours
( this ensures almost all of the old oil drains out )

i am presently using the polaris gold VES 2 stroke oil
having some warm weather start up issues

the person who sells the draggon oil says a lot of quad owners with 2 stroke engines have switched to this draggon oil , and are reporting way better start-a-bility

hmm i might have to try some of that draggon oil with castor , might solve my problem

If you're having start up issues it's not oil that's usually a problem,but could be too much fuel from a worn needle and seat. The 350 and 400 were bad on needle and seat wear from the vibration along with the carb float arm and float pin wear.A lot of people overlook these as they don't come in carb kits. Plus a compression check can tell you where you stand on the top end.Plus on these old 2 strokes always turn the fuel valve off to keep gas from flooding into the crank case.

my carb rebuild kit did come with a replacement needle and seat which i installed

i will remove the carb again to see if the replacement needle is the same diameter as the factory 1 ( i have a feeling the replacement needle is not the same diameter )

i always turn the fuel valve off and let the engine run till it stalls out from no fuel left in the bowl

i always did this on my kawasaki ninja keeps gum and varnish from forming inside the bowl

i will have to rent a compression tester

If there is an Auto Zone near you, they should have a tester you can use. You'll have to put up a deposit, but when you return it in the same condition it was loaned out, you'll get your deposit back.

Not a tool you'll use everyday, but it's nice to have one on hand. If you can find one at a good price, I'd buy it.
