Question Too much Oil

I have a 87 Polaris Trailboss and its getting too much oil. Is there a way on the oil pump to adjust the amount of oil being mixed in with the gas? If not should I convert to pre-mix? What would the raitio be for it?

~Thanks

Sure it's not getting too much gas?May need a new needle and seat/carb kit? Oil pumps, unless the adjuster cable has been messed with are pretty well set from the factory at around 50-1 ratio. If in doubt look at the oil pump lever. It has a small index mark on the lever that aligns with the one on the pump body at idle. Too much gas can cause a lot of excess smoking, fouling plugs, same as oil can. Plus I'd check compression to see if you're at a minimum of 120 psi.
