Adam Dowden, did you ever come up with a water proof CB radio?

Harold, I think I just saw one in the new Dirt Wheels. I think it was a tour group, they had a two-way radio mounted in a waterproof box on the front rack and the microphone part attached to the fender. They also had an outdoor speaker on the front rack so they could listen to others as they rode. I think you could just go to a boat dealer and by a marine cb or radio and you could listen to music or talk on the cb with out worrying about it getting wet. Good luck

Later, Steve

Radio Shack has a waterproof CB, comes in yellow. I have been thinking of getting on for the King. The only thing is to have a riding partner who has one.

adam, remember that a Marine Radio is VHF and not UHF, yes they are waterproof and can talk about 5 times farther that regular CB's without all of the static. the downside IS that the rest of your buddies will also have to have VHF radios also. i use VHF exclusively for hunting and pleasure, not only do you get the better reception-talk farther, but you also have the privacy of not being heard by 10,000 other people as very few people use VHF.

Me and my friend run CB's on our quads. I ride a 99 Wolverine, I bought a Polaris saddle bag for my quad and I use a Radio Shack "Sports" CB radio, model # TRC 442, the CB is water resistant and I have it on the side of the saddle bag, inside the fish net pocket. I have a 3' fire stick antenna installed in the flag mount on the rear rack. This set up works very well. The only mod we have done to the radio is install a external speaker jack in the rear of the radio so I can use a ear speaker so I can hear it over the quads engine noises during fast pased riding. When we are just puttin around the internal speaker works fine. Here we donot do alot of mudd and water riding so water proof rigs where not realy needed, And yes I have a Polaris bag om my Wolverine, I had to paint over the white Polaris lettering tho, LOL. They are the best fitting bags I have found.
