Default Ready for plow season

Haven't been here for awhile, but thought I would share my set up for turning my plow. Works like a charm and only costs a couple of bucks. I have the kind of driveway which demands I turn my plow often so this lets me do it with ease without getting off the machine.

It looks funny but looks aren't everything. Good cheap solution to the problem.

Interesting idea, nicely done. How do you turn the blade back to the left though? I know adjusting a manual blade can be a pain, especially dressed down in thick winter clothes.

I have the rope connected to both sides of the blade. You just pull the release lever (center) and then pull the left or right rope which is attached to the blade ends, a two second operation.

The springs are very necessary if the blade trips forward when you hit something.

Is that blade composite? Just noticed the Polaris name molded in it.

Yes, it is the Glacier III poly 66" plow, no rust to worry about this year. the snow isn't supposed to stick to it either. We will see. The blade is too wide for the sportsman but, I hope I can get by with it.

How heavy is it? The front of my Kodiak really slouches down when I raise the blade. I have a standard 48" Warn steel blade on it now. The best part is the way Warn wants you to raise the blade-its just a slide bar that's mounted to the front rack, you basically have the entire weight of the blade to pick up manually with one arm. I didn't even bother putting it on, I installed an electric actuator instead.
The manual one is something like this-

That is neat. I have a 60" Moose and I'd sure like to know the weight difference.

I love those simple ideas that are cheap and work like a charm. Great modification!!! I'm thinking about doing this now. The one thing I hate most about my plow on the Can-Am is having to get off to move the blade.
